Willoughby-Eastlake City School District seeks a part-time Library Monitor to support elementary students and staff. The role entails 19.5 hours weekly across Tue/Wed/Fri 9:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and Thu 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., with an hourly pay rate of $19.23–$26.08.
A high school diploma is required; experience in libraries or with children is preferred. The Ohio Department of Education permits a one-year student monitor permit ($25 online fee).
9.5 Months/4 days a week/19.5 hours per week
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 9:0 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Thursdays, 9:0 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Hourly Rate of Pay: $19.23-$26.08
Must have accuracy of typing/computer skills; be able to communicate clearly with both elementary students and with teaching staff; have good verbal and writing skills; knowledge of basic library structures and procedures; some knowledge of children's literature helpful. Able to work with parent library volunteers in a cooperative manner.
Must maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance; have control over emotions; be self-motivated, punctual, dependable in attendance, reliable in work habits, and be both children and task oriented; exercise discretion and good judgment; and derive satisfaction interacting with students.
High school diploma is required; additional training or work experience in public or private library environment desired but not mandatory.
The Ohio Department of Education requires a one-year student monitor permit ($25.00 online fee).
Experience Work experience with elementary-age children and/or in libraries helpful.
