Job summary

Framingham Public Schools’ Brophy Elementary School seeks a Library Assistant to support the library media center for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves assisting with research, book selection, circulation, cataloging, and classroom collaboration to promote literacy and equitable access for all students and staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or 48 credits; must pass Parapro Test if required.
• Previous experience in a school library setting preferred.
• Familiarity with Destiny library automation software desirable.
• Experience with K-12 students in education or recreational settings.
• Additional coursework in library science, child development, or related field desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Library Media Specialist and teachers to support inquiry and information literacy.
• Manage daily circulation, cataloging, and inventory
• Assist students with research and proper use of resources
• Guide students in ethical information use and digital citizenship
• Support volunteers and maintain welcoming library environment
• Align library practices with district standards and curricula.
