Brevard County Library in Merritt Island is seeking a part-time paraprofessional to support Youth Services and Circulation. The role includes helping patrons with computers, databases, Internet searches, printers, and mobile devices, and assisting with library programs.
Work is up to 20 hours weekly with variable evenings and Saturdays. Experience in library/customer service and basic computer skills are required; salary is $18.73/hour with negotiation based on experience.

$18.73 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Merritt Island Public Library. Part-time/up to 20 hours per week. Work schedule is variable and includes evenings and Saturdays. Performs experienced paraprofessional library work providing assistance in the Youth Services and Circulation sections of the library. Work includes assisting the public with the use of computers to conduct database and Internet searches, printers, library-related services on mobile phones and eReaders, and assisting with various library programs. May provide direction to other staff members and/or volunteers.
Successful completion of two (2) years of college coursework in any field [30 semester (45 quarter) hours = one (1) year]; OR two (2) years of library or customer service experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
When usage statistics change, library employees may be assigned to another library. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
