Job summary

San Diego Unified School District is currently seeking a Library Assistant at Hage Elementary School to support the instructional program in the school libraries/media centers. This is a part-time position with 8 hours per week and a 10-month schedule.

Compensation follows the Paraeducator Salary Schedule, Grade 20; bilingual differential may apply. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and complete all online application questions.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED and a passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or an Associate’s degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university.
  • Completion of post high school courses in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field is desirable.
  • Related education and experience must be clearly represented in the work history and education section of your application.
  • Some positions may require conversational and/or written skills in a specific foreign language related to the needs of the assignment.

VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • Working Location: Hage Elementary School. 9750 Galvin Ave., San Diego, CA 92126 (Area B).
  • School Website
  • Work Schedule: 10 months per year / 8 hours per week. This is a part-time opportunity and not eligible for district health and wellness benefits .

Examination Process

The examination process includes an application screening and evaluation based on the applicant's education, work history, and responses to the application questions.
