SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA LIBRARY SYSTEM is seeking a part-time Library Assistant in McAlester, OK. You will handle circulations, interlibrary loans, and patron assistance with the PAC and online services.

Responsibilities include shelving, processing new materials, answering phones, updating records, and helping with exhibits and customer outreach. A high school diploma and basic computer skills are required.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to respond effectively to customer questions.
• Basic keyboarding skills required; comfortable with standard computer use.

Mansioni

• Issues borrowers’ library identifications, checks out materials, and records overdue fines.
• Handles interlibrary loan requests and relocates returned items as needed.
• Transports materials from book drops for sorting and shelving.
• Prepares new materials for circulation, including stamping and coding.
• Assists patrons with the public access catalog and online services.
• Answers phones and provides general information about library services.
• Updates borrower records and assists with collection development.
• Creates exhibits and instructional materials for library materials.
