University of Utah is seeking a Library Aide to perform routine clerical procedures and patron services in an assigned library department on campus in Salt Lake City, UT.

The role requires basic clerical or customer service experience, strong communication, and the ability to work evenings and Saturdays on a flexible schedule. The position is part-time with a variable shift and potential for special projects.

Qualifications

  • Six months clerical or customer service experience required or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

  • Assists patrons with use of online library catalog, as well as finding items on the library shelves.

  • Produces spine labels for library materials.
  • Enters new arrivals and denotes the status of various items into the library’s automated system.
  • Assist with archiving and cataloging.
  • Performs area related clerical duties such as filing, typing, shelving and reorganizing new and old books, as well as general cleaning of assigned area.
