Job summary

The Macdonald-Kelce Library at The University of Tampa seeks an Access Services Manager to direct daily access services, supervise front desk operations, oversee ILS, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for UTampa Community.

The role leads 9 staff (5 FTE, 4 PT) and student workers, drives policy, coordinates circulation, reserves, ILL, and fines, and partners across campus to support teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in library science or a bachelor's degree in library science or a related field; substitution allowed on a year-for-year basis.
• 3 years of progressively responsible experience; 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
• 2–4 years of library or customer-service experience; experience supervising 3+ people.
• Strong written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Workday and Microsoft Office (Teams, SharePoint); ability to learn UTampa software.
• Knowledge of library management principles and copyright basics for ILL; willingness to adopt new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership for the Access Services team; set goals and monitor progress.
• Direct the Access Services Department and front desk operations campus‑wide.
• Supervise 5 full-time and 4 part-time staff; train and supervise student workers.
• Manage ILS for check-outs, reserves, ILL, fines, and stacks maintenance.
• Coordinate policy development and collaboration with other library areas.
• Ensure accurate records, budget input, and compliance with procedures.
• Support patrons and respond to inquiries; oversee daily operations and security.
