PAY: Hourly $28.25-$28.86. Compensation for this position isbased on relevant education and experience and will be set withinthe listed range.

SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, benefited 12-month position.Schedule is M-F (4 weekdays 9a-5p, 1 evening 1:30pm-9pm) .Schedule may vary according to departmental and Academyneeds.

Position Purpose
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Library, the AccessServices Coordinator is responsible for providing high quality,user-focused services to library users. Responsible for thecoordination of the daily operations of library access servicesincluding borrowing, stacks maintenance, data collection, andstudent employee program. Provide public service and participate ina team-oriented work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain circulation operations for the libraryincluding borrowing, renewals, returns, damaged items, holds, andcourse reserves. Collaborate with systems librarian for the smoothoperation of patron loads, notices, and reporting; produce annualstatistics and reports.
- Provide a welcoming and collegial environment at the servicedesk and throughout the library, supporting, encouraging, andproviding boundaries for our high school students. Oversee patronaccounts, resolve disputes with borrowers regarding fines andoverdue items and authorize fine waivers or reductions, as judgedto be appropriate and in collaboration with finance and otheroffices.
- Coordinate library student work program. Collaborate with HumanResources to recruit, hire, train and supervise student workers.Verify and approve student workers’ biweekly time records. Schedulestudent workers for circulation desk coverage and develop andcoordinate projects for them in other areas of the library duringthe school year and during summer session.
- Serve regular shifts at the service desk. Answer patronquestions and public enquiries; greet and direct building visitors;refer questions as needed. Serve as a team lead to ensurecommunication and consistency between the daytime and the eveningsand weekends, as well as for part-time and on-call staff.
- Maintain the circulating collections, including supervision ofshelving and shifting of materials as needed. Participate inweeding projects, as needed by librarian liaisons.
- Manage the Book Exchange (a free, used-book program) includingcollecting items at key points in the year and directing studentworkers to integrate donations annually.
- Seek out professional development opportunities, especially toremain current on trends and service ideas in access services.Other duties as assigned.

Direct: Academic year student workers and summer library assistants-- academic year students in part-time temporary regular staffpositions.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with diversepopulations, as evidenced by a minimum of one year's experience ina public-facing role, showcasing communication, problem-solving,and interpersonal skills.
- Library experience desirable. Experience with WMS or anotherautomated circulation system preferred.
- Experience working with adolescents in an educational settingpreferred.
