Arthur CUSD #305 is currently accepting applications for an opening for a Librarian/Media Specialist for
the 2026-2027 school year.

Description and Qualifications: The Library Media Specialist provides each student with an enriched
library environment containing a wide variety of materials and resources designed to promote intellectual
curiosity and growth. This position supports students and staff in developing the skills necessary to
effectively access and utilize library and media center resources. Responsibilities include, but not limited
to, previewing, selecting, and overseeing the ordering and processing of new library acquisitions in
accordance with district policy, work cooperatively with faculty to share resources and provide assistance
as needed, and responding promptly and courteously to library resource inquiries by students and faculty.

Qualifications

Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement as required bystate law, proficient in computer applications, including email, the Internet, and Google applications.Candidate should have strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with students,staff, and the community, and the ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs and push/pull up to 10 lbs.
