Job summary

Vermontlibraries seeks a Liaison Librarian to support faculty and students at VTSU and CCV through reference, instruction, and services. You will coordinate with programs, teach workshops, and manage LibGuides while promoting open access resources across campuses.

You will collaborate with the library team, participate in policy development, and provide research support both online and in person to maintain strong, inclusive library services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited Library/Information Science program or equivalent plus three or more years of experience providing reference and instruction in higher education.
• Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and creativity in service delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide faculty outreach related to instructional materials and manage online information literacy consultations.
• Serve as on-campus liaison librarian for a specific location (VTSU or CCV).
• Facilitate communication between libraries and assigned programs and departments.
• Integrate open access resources and open educational resources into coursework.
• Collaborate within the liaison team to ensure equitable service.
• Develop policies for virtual reference and instructional services with the AS Director.
• Provide reference service and research support via live chat, email, virtual, and in-person hours.
• Develop and teach general and subject-specific workshops, plus pre-recorded tutorials.
• Maintain LibGuides CMS and Springshare products.
• Promote library resources via cross-campus communications and social media.
• Meet with program faculty to discuss collection development and services.
• Review collection statistics to maintain diverse and inclusive collections.
• Assist in adjusting collection development in response to curricular needs.
• Collaborate to recommend materials for wider audiences and participate in system-wide committees.
