Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineer to coordinate production problem resolution within a manufacturing facility. Job description

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related production problems in the manufacturing facility
  • Confer with quality control, materials, manufacturing, and other department personnel to provide technical support
  • Investigate defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems and define solutions
  • Examine, measure, inspect, investigate, and test suspected defective parts for conformance to engineering specifications
  • Evaluate findings, formulate corrective action plans, and coordinate implementation
  • Serve as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB) to determine disposition of defective or damaged parts
  • Check drawings and suggest changes to improve producibility and functionality
  • Coordinate repairs according to OEM Structural Repair Manuals and create clean-sheet structural repairs, including structural calculations when needed, for FAA submission via a designated engineering representative
  • Provide short-flow technical, analytical, and data solutions supporting production and Quality Assurance efforts and workflow
  • Coordinate and release Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Coordinate and expedite MRB dispositions
  • Provide technical guidance through production and QA areas
  • Work with Certification Engineers and Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) as needed for project deliverables
  • Support Engineering with development, data release, and analysis
  • Support Customer Support personnel and propose solutions to customer issues
  • Perform other assigned duties
  • Maintain regular scheduled attendance; no supervisory responsibilities
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Engineering from a four-year college or university; and three to five years’ Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a production setting
  • Previous aircraft electrical/engineering knowledge preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD and Solidworks preferred)
  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Ability to develop expertise in federal aviation regulations (FARs) and regulatory processes
  • No certificates, licenses, or registrations required
