NISA Investment Advisors, LLC seeks an Actuarial & Pension Strategies Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on benefit plan liabilities. You will collaborate across teams, analyze cash flows, and design investment strategies with programming support. The role emphasizes quantitative rigor and clear client communication.

Based in St. Louis, this senior position requires experience with pension funding, LDI, and DB valuations, plus strong Excel and programming skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field preferred.
• ASA or FSA CFA and/or EA a plus.
• 6+ years actuarial/LDI experience with defined benefit pension plans required.
• Familiarity with PPA, ASC 715, GASB 67/68, and defined benefit plan funding required.
• Experience with defined benefit valuations, LDI asset management, and/or investment consulting preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and at least one programming or analytical language (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
• Strong interest in financial markets / economics.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing portfolio management of custom liability-focused programs within NISA's Strategic Portfolio Management group.
• Partner with Liability Review team and clients/actuaries to analyze liability cash flows, rate sensitivity, and market exposures.
• Lead actuarial analysis, asset-liability risk assessment, investment strategy design, programming, and Monte Carlo simulation for large institutional investors.
• Communicate complex analysis clearly to clients and internal teams via reports and presentations.
