Job summary

The Multicultural AIDS Coalition in Boston is seeking a driven, community-rooted Program Manager to lead the Connected Boston initiative. You will build partnerships, mentor a team, and deliver programming from the street to the Drop-In Center to social media, making a tangible impact on LGBTQ+ lives.

You’ll own the program end-to-end, manage budgets and reporting, monitor service delivery, and cultivate funder relationships while shaping outreach and engagement with state, local, and federal

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in public health, community organizing, or a related field.
• Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Proven ability to manage staff, volunteers, and client and funder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Connected Boston program from vision to daily execution, hire/orient/train staff, volunteers, and interns, and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Oversee street-based, venue-based, and social media outreach; manage Drop-In Center operations and activities; monitor service delivery to keep quality high.
• Develop and execute departmental goals, timelines, and workplans; track fiscal and program reporting for all funding sources; build feedback systems for clients and staff.
• Cultivate partnerships with other agencies and maintain communication with state, local, and federal project officers and private funders.
• Shape messaging and community engagement strategy to connect with LGBTQ+ community members and communicate the Connected Boston mission to stakeholders.
• Participate in management and staff meetings on operational priorities, fiscal management, funding, and proposal development.

The Multicultural AIDS Coalition is looking for a driven, community-rooted Program Manager to lead our Connected Boston initiative. This is a role for someone who wants their work to matter-someone ready to build partnerships, mentor a team, and deliver programming that meets LGBTQ+ community members where they are, from the street to the Drop-In Center to social media.

What you’ll do

You’ll own the Connected Boston program from vision to daily execution. That means:

• Lead the team. Hire, orient, train, and develop staff, volunteers, and interns-and conduct annual performance reviews that help people grow.
• Run the programs. Oversee street-based, venue-based, and social media outreach; manage Drop-In Center operations and activities; and monitor service delivery to keep quality high.
• Own the outcomes. Develop and execute departmental goals, timelines, and workplans; track fiscal and program reporting for all funding sources; and build feedback systems for clients and staff.
• Build the relationships. Cultivate partnerships with other agencies and stay in close communication with state, local, and federal project officers and private funders.
• Grow the reach. Shape messaging and community engagement strategy to connect with LGBTQ+ community members, and champion the Connected Boston mission to stakeholders, funders, and partners.
• Contribute to the whole. Join management and staff meetings on operational priorities, fiscal management, funding, and proposal development.

What you bring

• 3–5+ years of experience in public health, community organizing, or a related field
• Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects
• Proven ability to manage staff, volunteers, and community and funder relationships
• Knowledge of the issues and challenges facing LGBTQ+ people, particularly around HIV/STIs and related health concerns
• Understanding of the realities facing transgender and immigrant communities
• Familiarity with LGBTQ+ organizations and community infrastructure
• Excellent listening and facilitation skills
• Interest or experience in community-based participatory research

Nice to have

• A public health background
• Knowledge of state and federal reporting requirements, processes, and procedures
• Phlebotomy experience or certification, or a willingness to train (certification is a plus)
