Job summary

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in New York seeks a compassionate Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW) to join our Behavioral Health team, providing individual psychotherapy, assessments, crisis intervention, and referrals to patients and families. Depending on clinic needs, work across Article 28/31 outpatient settings and open-access walk-in therapy.

Requirements include MSW, NYS licensure (LMSW/LCSW), 1+ year post-Master’s clinical experience, LGBT/HIV health knowledge, and EPIC documentation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work and NYS licensure – LMSW or LCSW required.
• 1+ years post-Master’s clinical experience in adult and group settings preferred.
• Knowledge of LGBT- and HIV-related health/mental health issues.
• Computer literacy required and ability to document in electronic charting system (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive behavioral health services within LMSW/LCSW scope.
• Conduct assessments and referrals.
• Deliver crisis intervention when needed.
• Provide individual, family/couples, and group psychotherapy.
• Collaborate with behavioral health management, psychiatry, primary care, and care coordinators.
• Maintain productivity through scheduling and documentation.
• Write letters for gender-affirming surgery as appropriate.
• Participate in on-call services.
• Provide clinical/administrative supervision as assigned.
