Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking an onsite technician/engineer for Haltom City, TX. You will follow blueprints, perform troubleshooting, calibrations, and measurements to ensure products meet specifications.

The role requires HS diploma with extensive hands-on experience; weekend/overtime may be required, lifting up to 35 pounds, and possible cross-training in multiple skills. This is an onsite, U.S.-based position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED or vocational/technical education with relevant experience
  • 5+ years of mechanic repairs or technical work in aviation/manufacturing/auto/industrial fields

Responsibilities

  • Follow blueprints, diagrams to meet specs
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate or modify hardware and software
  • Use measuring/diagnostic tools to test systems
  • Maintain production records and report issues
  • Interpret data and record test results accurately
  • Operate mechanical/optical equipment and computers
  • Provide technical solutions to engineering teams
  • Ensure assemblies meet specs and quality standards
  • Rework/repair mechanical and electromechanical systems as needed
  • Assist in design of components/prototypes as needed
  • Train/mentor junior technicians as required
  • Lift up to 35 pounds with assistive devices as needed

  • 1st Shift: 5 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.
  • Position will be working onsite at our Haltom City, TX location.
What You Will Do
  • Follows blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met.
  • Performs troubleshooting, calibrations or modifications of hardware, fixtures and software.
  • Uses measuring and diagnostic tools to test and modify systems and components/assemblies.
  • Maintains records of production and reports any issues while following standard procedures.
  • Interprets data and accurately records time changes, test data, parts usage, etc.
  • Utilizes mechanical or optical equipment, including computers and lasers.
  • Provides technical solutions to engineering.
  • Ensures systems and components/assemblies meet established specifications.
  • Reworks and repairs various mechanical and electromechanical systems and components/assemblies as needed.
  • May assist engineering with the design of components and prototypes.
  • May be trained/certified in multiple skills.
  • May train and mentor new technicians.
  • Able to lift to 35 pounds. Employees will utilize a lift assist or buddy system if greater than 35 pounds.
  • Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience Certification or credentials may be required for some roles
  • 5 or more years of experience performing mechanic repairs, assembly or other technical capacities within industries such as aviation manufacturing, automotive, construction, etc

  • Able to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to interpret and follow component maintenance manuals, blueprints and all other applicable technical documents
