Torrey Holistics in Murray, KY is seeking a Level 2 Technician to maintain heavy duty trucks and trailers. You will perform preventative and non-scheduled maintenance, carry out repairs with limited supervision, and document work on orders and inspection forms.

With 1–2 years of tractor/trailer maintenance experience and a GED or high school diploma, you will work under the Maintenance Manager and may train Level 1 technicians.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
  • 1–2 years related experience in tractor/trailer maintenance.
  • Degree in Diesel Mechanics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine, preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections per FMCSA guidelines.
  • Performs non-scheduled repairs on trucks and trailers with limited supervision.
  • Records all work on work orders and inspection forms; allocates parts to equipment.
  • Maintains clean, organized work areas and supports other duties as needed.

Job description

Title: Level 2 Technician

Date: 05/20/22

Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Manager - Murray Maintenance

FLSA Status: Hourly

Summary

Performs preventative and non-scheduled maintenance on heavy duty trucks / trailers and other equipment. Performs repairs or replaces broken parts as necessary with limited supervision. Performs minor body work. May train level 1 technicians. Performs all work in accordance with established practices.

Major Duties
  • Performs routine, preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections, in compliance with FMCSA inspection guidelines.
  • Performs various non-scheduled repairs on trucks and trailers with limited supervision.
  • Records all work performed on work orders and inspection forms, responsible for entering accurate information on work orders while maintaining accountability for allocation of parts to specific equipment.
  • Cleans and maintains assigned work areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Vocational training preferred, Preparation for CDL a plus.
  • 1- 2 years related experience in tractor / trailer maintenance in a commercial garage or fleet leasing company, minimum 1 year.
  • A degree in Diesel Mechanics is preferred.
