Job summary

Precision-Ndt seeks a Level II NDT Field Technician to perform inspections using certified methods and provide technical guidance to assistants and junior technicians. The role emphasizes safe and accurate execution, with responsibilities spanning from setup to reporting and client communication.

The incumbent will review drawings, weld maps, and customer specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards while delivering clear inspection documentation.

Qualifications

• Perform NDT inspections using certified methods (UT, MT, PT, RT, VT).
• Interpret and evaluate results per codes, standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare inspection reports with measurements, findings, and equipment data.
• Review drawings, weld maps, and customer specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior staff.

The Level II NDT Field Technician performs inspections independently within the scope of their certifications, provides technical guidance to NDT Assistants and Level I Technicians, and ensures all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform NDT inspections using certified methods, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Visual Testing (VT), as applicable to individual certifications.Set up, calibrate or standardize, operate, and maintain NDT inspection equipment according to approved procedures.Interpret and evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and acceptance criteria.Identify, document, and communicate defects, discontinuities, and inspection findings to supervisors and customers.Prepare accurate and complete inspection reports, including measurements, findings, equipment information, and supporting documentation.Review technical drawings, inspection procedures, weld maps, and customer specifications.Provide technical guidance and supervision
