Job Location: Colorado - Greeley, CO

Description

The NDE Technician will perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions, recording results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret, and evaluate results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications. They are familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods used and are responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians.

Level II Technicians organize and report NDT results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
  • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods
  • Establish techniques for proper examination, ensuring safety regulations are followed
  • Apply testing criteria per specifications or standards and evaluate results
  • Interpret radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators
  • Organize and report test results
  • Perform specialized inspections
  • Instruct and supervise others as needed

Additional tasks may be assigned by management.

Education and Experience

Preferred NDT Level II certification in MT, PT, UTT. Technical background in NDT methods and procedures. Pipeline Integrity experience is a plus.

Must demonstrate ability to perform NDT tasks and interpret inspection results, with knowledge of NDT equipment. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Must pass a DISA Background check, drug screens, and site-specific safety training. Must test out in all required methods with XCEL.

Qualifications

Desired competencies include a strong work ethic, dependability, safety and quality awareness, mechanical aptitude, adaptability, attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to follow procedures. Pipeline integrity experience is a plus.

Work conditions include physical requirements such as lifting objects over 50 pounds, climbing ladders and scaffolding up to 250 feet, working in extreme temperatures and hazardous environments, and extended hours.
