Job Location: Colorado - Greeley, CO

Description

The NDE Technician will perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions, recording results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. They are familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods used and are responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians.

Level II Technicians organize and report the results of NDT.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: setting up and calibrating nondestructive testing equipment, conducting tests to ensure quality and detect discontinuities, establishing examination techniques, applying testing criteria according to specifications, interpreting radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, visual indicators, organizing and reporting test results, performing specialized inspections, and supervising others if needed.

Additional tasks may be assigned by management.

Experience and Requirements
  • NDT Level II certification in MT, PT, UTT preferred. Technical background in NDT methods and procedures. Pipeline Integrity experience is a plus.
  • Ability to perform and interpret NDT inspections effectively.
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete and pass a DISA Background check, drug screens, and site-specific safety training.
  • Must test out in all required methods with XCEL.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • Move, carry, and lift objects over 50 pounds.
  • Climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding over 100 feet tall.
  • Climb ladders and platforms up to 250 feet with safety harness and lanyard.
  • Step into vehicles or onto equipment.
  • Work extended hours and stand for long periods.
  • Work in extreme heat and cold, indoors and outdoors.
  • Work near industrial hazards.
