Qualifications

• Must be professional.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to safely handle/operate firearm.
• Ability to handle physical workload.

• Able to pass a physical fitness assessment.
• Must pass a background check.
• 21 years of age or older.
• U.S. Citizen.
• No felony convictions in last 10 years.
• No Class A/B misdemeanor convictions in recent years.
• Cannot be on deferred adjudication for felonies or have open cases.
• Must own duty gear/firearm and be able to obtain specified equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• * Prior or current Military/Law Enforcement experience*
• * Exceptional display of duty weapon manipulation and accuracy*
• * Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, which may result in exposure to inclement weather, and be able to walk, run, climb, crawl, sit or stand for extended periods of time and be able to perform all activities faced by emergency first responders*
• * Must demonstrate the ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues that arise in the area of responsibility; must be able to effectively communicate with school staff, students, families, and law enforcement professionals; extensive communication (verbal and written) is required; will be responsible for managing witnesses and others when handling or responding to incidents; requires the use of sound judgment*
