Job summary

Franklin Logistics is seeking a Lumber Yard Forklift Operator to work outdoors and keep the lumber yard moving smoothly. You will load and unload rail cars and flatbed trailers, operate multiple forklift sizes, and stay active in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the site supervisor and offers weekly pay, a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule, and starting pay of $21.00 per hour. Dependability and a can-do attitude are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• 1 year Lumber Yard Experience.
• 1 year Large Forklift (10k or higher) Experience.
• Rail car Experience a plus.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be able to walk, bend, lift and stand throughout shift.
• Flexible with working at multiple site locations.
• Pre-hire Drug Screening Required.
• Background Screening Not Conducted.

Responsibilities

• Operate 5K, 10K and 15K Forklifts.
• Load lumber onto flatbed trailers.
• Move and stack materials.
• Move rail cars on the line.
• Strap products into gondolas.
• Fall Protection Certification.
• Unstrap and secure rail cars.
• Unload box cars.
• Receive and process shipments.
• General housekeeping duties in production areas.
• Comply with and adhere to all safety policies and regulations.
• Perform proper forklift inspections and adhere to all forklift operating guidelines and procedures.
