Job summary

Shepley Wood Products is seeking a Forklift Operator to support safe and efficient yard operations, loading and unloading lumber, organizing inventory, and assisting customers and drivers. The role emphasizes accurate material movement, adherence to safety standards, and teamwork in a busy yard.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts in a lumber yard, warehouse, or construction setting preferred.
• Knowledge of lumber sizes, grades, and common building materials helpful but not required.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (50–100 lbs).
• Strong communication and simple math skills.
• Reliable, safety‑oriented, and able to work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Pull, stage, and prepare orders accurately.

• Provide excellent service to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Maintain clean and orderly yard areas to support safety and organization.
• Maintain situational awareness in a busy yard environment with multiple equipment types.
• Comply with OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
