Responsibilities

1. Transport patients to and from treatment areas as scheduled.
2. Prepare patients for treatment.
3. Assist with and/or provide treatment as directed by therapists.
4. Transport clients in the company van for community activities as needed.
5. Assist therapists and staff with clerical and patient-related duties, including computerized activities.
6. Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and department.
7. Ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment.
8. Record daily treatment charges and documentation according to billing and documentation guidelines.
9. Coordinate activities with other departments and staff within the rehabilitation team.
10. Participate in department and facility meetings, and in Performance Improvement programs.
11. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA, ethics, and compliance standards.
12. Present a professional appearance, be reliable, punctual, and cooperative.
13. Attend staff development programs as required.
14. Report safety concerns immediately.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Preferred: Six months of prior work/volunteer experience in a healthcare setting.
3. Experience in patient care in a rehabilitation setting is preferred; therapy students are considered.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. Ability to relate and work with disabled, ill, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance.
8. Clean motor vehicle record as per company standards.
9. At least two years of driving experience.
