Position Summary

Maintain excellent customer service to ensure guest satisfaction and encourage repeat visits. Server assistants are expected to be detailed-oriented, efficient, and assist in minimizing waste and spillage on a daily basis.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provide guests with water, coffee/tea, and bread service throughout their meal.
2. Remove used dishes and glassware from tables; scrape and stack dishes.
3. Maintain cleanliness and safety of all common areas and service stations; clean spills, broken dishes, and recycle/trash accordingly.
4. Re-set tables in your assigned section after guests depart; assist servers as needed; respond promptly to guest requests and communicate with servers immediately.
5. Perform assigned side work at the start and end of each shift.
6. Monitor guests’ dining experience to ensure satisfaction; respond courteously to requests.
7. Assist fellow staff members when situations arise.
8. Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.

Job Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Previous experience in full-service restaurants is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to stand for long periods, reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Punctuality, reliable attendance, and transportation.
• Honesty, integrity, good hygiene, and professionalism.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team and in a courteous, friendly manner with the public.
