Job description

We have a brand new opportunity available for a qualified Level 2 Deskside Support Technician to join our client’s team onsite in Houston, TX. This tech must possess computer hardware, Microsoft application, software, and network troubleshooting skills as a standard field support tech, and will be specifically focused on addressing onsite staff's issues and needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify all conference room IT equipment is properly functioning and ready.
  • Consistently communicate and plan with the local management team:
    • Synchronize schedules and work plans.
    • Physically visit with key stakeholders.
    • Address all support tickets/local management requests.
  • Remotely support users that are working from home, while traveling, and while onsite.
  • Consistently check and work open tickets and tasks, making clear and concise notes, and resolving work in a timely manner.
  • Proactively prepare equipment (laptops, phones, order forms).
  • Follow up on incorrectly filed or missing paperwork/forms with local management staff.
  • Assist with IT support on conference room meetings (as needed).
  • Assist users with their computers, training on how to use features in Office/M365 applications.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A+ certified (or capable of attaining A+ certification within 90 days from hire).
  • Client desktop or laptop hardware repair familiarity (capable of attaining certification within 120 days from hire).
  • Familiar with ticketing systems and SLA metrics, preferred experience with ServiceNow.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with imaging computers using provided tools.
  • Experience with Windows 10 in an Active Directory domain environment.
  • Understanding of user accounts and computer accounts in Active Directory.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, multiple generations of Outlook and O365 online use on both Windows computers and mobile devices.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP basics, and how DHCP and DNS function with Windows computers.
  • Experience with printer driver installation and configuration, for both personal printers and large Multi-Function Copiers systems from Sharp and Canon.
  • Must be organized and proactive.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Ability to address and resolve issues quickly.

Pay Rate: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour.
