Job summary

Riverstone Communities is seeking a Level 1 Maintenance Technician for Circle Mobile Home Park in Newport News, VA. Expect a full-time 40-hour week with a steady schedule, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include groundskeeping, home cleanouts, and basic plumbing tasks, with on-site tools provided. Requirements include 1–2 years of general labor experience, outdoor work in all weather, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of general labor experience in groundskeeping or property maintenance.
• Ability to be very active—walking, bending, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Legally able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.

• Oversee the curb appeal of the community to Riverstone Communities’ standards.
• Complete clean outs of homes.
• Diagnose and fix residential water/sewer leaks.
• Finish work orders efficiently and with minimal supervision.

We are currently seeking a qualified Level 1 Maintenance Technician for our Circle Mobile Home Park located at 6029 A. Jefferson Ave Newport News, VA 23605.

Level 1 Maintenance Technician Job Duties

• Oversee the curb appeal of the community and make sure it is up to Riverstone Communities’ standards which includes:
  • Picking up trash around the community
  • Groundskeeping including lawn mowing, planting flowers, weeding/weed eating, etc
• Complete clean outs of homes
• Diagnose and fix residential water/sewer leaks
• Finish work orders in an efficient and timely manner
• Read water meters for each home
• Complete day to day duties with minimal supervision
• Adhere to all safety laws and regulations
• Conduct regular inventory checks on equipment and supplies
• Take training classes online/virtually via a computer or tablet
• Other duties as qualified and trained to do so

Level 1 Maintenance Technician Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in general labor including groundskeeping, landscaping, property management maintenance
• Ability to be very active – walking, bending, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable with working outside in all weather conditions
• Willingness to use technology/learn technology in a basic capacity
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle (drive to different locations on the property) with a valid driver’s license
• Specific maintenance knowledge/skills will be tested for accuracy.
