Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a Lettings Officer to join a regional lettings team. You will advertise and market homes, shortlist applicants and coordinate the lettings process from start to finish, ensuring quick let allocations.

Working with housing, repairs and development teams, you will provide housing options advice, including Choice Based Lettings, and signpost to extra support as needed. This hybrid role based in Hastings runs on a fixed-term basis/secondment until May 17, 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience of lettings, housing services or working with local authority waiting lists is beneficial but not essential.
• CIH Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards one desirable.
• Excellent customer service and communication required.

We’re looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals who enjoy helping people access homes and delivering excellent service. At Southern Housing, we believe in providing fair, transparent and efficient services - and this role plays a key part in ensuring our homes are let quickly while supporting positive outcomes for residents.

As a Lettings Officer, you’ll be part of a regional lettings team delivering a high-quality, performance-driven empty homes and lettings service. You’ll help minimise void loss and maximise income by ensuring properties are allocated and occupied as efficiently as possible.

You’ll manage a varied workload, advertising and marketing homes, shortlisting applicants and coordinating the lettings process from start to finish. You’ll work closely with housing, repairs and development teams to ensure homes are ready to let quickly and safely. You’ll also support customers by providing advice on housing options, including Choice Based Lettings, and signpost to additional support where needed.

This role is based at Hastings and is offered on a Fixed Term Basis/Secondment until 17th of May 2027. Hybrid working will be agreed with the Line Manager.
