Job summary

The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA seeks a Group Exercise Instructor to deliver diverse fitness classes in a member-centered environment. You will motivate participants, tailor programs to individual needs, and uphold YMCA safety standards.

Required certifications include ACE/NETA/AFAA/NASM/Les Mills/Zumba; yoga and water exercise credentials are also required. This is a part-time position with responsibilities spanning class instruction, safety, and program support.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• National certifications in group fitness instruction (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM, Les Mills, Zumba) required.
• Yoga instructor certification (200+ hrs) required.
• Water exercise instructor certification required.
• At least 1 year of group exercise experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct members to maintain exertion levels to maximize benefits.
• Monitor progress and adapt programs as needed.
• Evaluate abilities and develop suitable training plans.
• Offer variations of routines for all fitness levels.
• Enforce safety rules and supervise activity.
• Maintain class attendance records and equipment.
• Lead special programs and assist with planning and promotions.
• Respond to emergencies per policies and trainings.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
