GENERAL FUNCTION

The Apprentice Optician creates value by delivering the LensCrafters Experience, ensuring customers are delighted through our selling model.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Conveys a commitment to providing excellent Customer Service through greeting, explaining the process, merchandise selection, fitting, solving visual problems, tendering, and dispensing.
• Serves as a center of excellence, focusing on right the first time and modeling our service and selling standards.
• Assists customers in selecting frames and lenses suited to their needs, and helps with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Anticipates problems, explores causes, and develops long-term solutions.
• Shows patience and courtesy, educates customers on guarantees and services, and handles measurements and fittings meticulously.
• Ensures eyewear meets standards and customer requests, and strives for exceptional results in training and store performance.
• Operates POS systems accurately, explains processing times, and manages store displays and safety practices.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Part of a sanctioned Apprentice Program
• Strong customer service, communication, and team skills
• Knowledge of optical theory, merchandise, and basic math
• Awareness of fashion trends, familiarity with POS and computers, and openness to technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Studying for LensCrafters Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program
• Optical dispensing experience and previous customer service/retail experience
