GENERAL FUNCTION

The Apprentice Optician creates value by delivering the LensCrafters Experience, ensuring customer delight through our selling model.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Convey commitment to unparalleled Customer Service through key sales and service steps: greeting, explaining, merchandise selection, fitting, solving visual problems, tendering, dispensing.
• Serve as a center of excellence, focusing on First Time Right and modeling our service and selling standards.
• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses suited to their needs, and support colleagues with complex product and prescription issues.
• Anticipate and address potential problems, exploring root causes for long-term solutions.
• Show patience and courtesy; provide answers to questions about products and services.
• Educate customers on LensCrafters’ guarantees and services, including protection plans and eyewear care.
• Accurately perform measurements, fittings, and ensure eyewear meets standards and customer requests.
• Aim for exceptional results in annual CEI/Functional Skills assessments aligned with brand priorities.
• Take ownership of personal and store results, serve as a role model and resource.
• Operate POS systems accurately, process payments securely, and explain delivery times.
• Maintain store appearance according to planograms and ensure a safe environment for all.
• Follow safety practices, including PPE in the lab.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Part of a sanctioned Apprentice Program
• Strong customer service, communication, and team skills
• Knowledge of optical theory, merchandise, and store products
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS and computers
• Open to new technology and change

Preferred Qualifications

• Studying for LensCrafters Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program
• Optical dispensing experience
• Previous retail/customer service experience
