CT/X-Ray Technologist, Lenexa City Center, Full Time Days

Starting in May with 5 x 8-hour shifts, then switching in July to 3 x 12-hour shifts.

Shift: FT Days, 7 am - 7 pm

Must be comfortable working as a CT and X-Ray Technologist.

Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units.

The new campus will include:

  • 244,000 square feet
  • Capacity for 98 total beds (44 on opening and 54 slated for future expansion)
  • Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two slated for future dates)

The role you’ll contribute:

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs CAT Scan procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment to acquire CAT Scan images for diagnosis. Keeps the room clean and stocked with supplies needed for CAT Scan procedures.

  • Maintains all essential job functions of the CT Technologist.
  • Rotates “on call” status.
  • Reviews patient requisitions and charts before exams.
  • Administers contrast material as directed by Radiologist.
  • Starts IVs on outpatients requiring IV contrast.
  • Draws labs for Creatine to expedite patient care.
  • Communicates with nurses and physicians to facilitate care.
  • Locates orders, labs, allergies, and other resources in Power Chart.
  • Sends images to VRC, scans reports into PACS.
  • Gives oral contrast prior to exams as scheduled.
  • Participates in training new CT techs.
  • Operates Cerner System, troubleshoots order problems, and makes corrections within scope.
  • Completes and charges exams correctly on Cerner.
  • Sends exams to PACS and handles issues if PACS is down.
  • Adheres to radiation safety standards.
  • Assumes responsibility for the area and reports equipment issues.
  • Follows hospital policies and standards of behavior.
  • Incorporates patient, physician, and organizational needs into decision-making.
  • Follows the AIDET model for patient interactions.
  • Maintains ethical relationships and cooperation with personnel.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Maintains professional appearance per dress code.
  • Attends at least 50% of department meetings and stays informed of missed information.
  • Provides patient transportation when needed.
  • Performs other duties as required by the Radiology Director or Manager.

Qualifications:

The expertise and experience needed to succeed:

  • Required: Associate’s Degree or Technical School graduate
  • Preferred: 6 months of relevant experience

Licensure, certification, or registration required:

  • Kansas State License LRT
  • Nationally Registered ARRT
  • ARRT Registered CT Technologist
  • AHA Healthcare Provider CPR
