Will start in May working 5 x 8 hour shifts. Then in July will switch to 3 x 12 hour shifts.

FT Days, 7am-7pm

The community you’ll be caring for:

Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units.

The new campus will include:

  • 244,000 square feet
  • Capacity for 98 total beds (44 on opening and 54 slated for future expansion)
  • Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two slated for future dates)

The role:

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs CAT Scan procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to acquire Cat Scan images for radiological diagnosis. Keeps room clean and stocked with supplies required for CAT Scan procedures.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Maintains all the essential job functions of the CT Technologist.
  • Reviews scheduled patient’s requisitions and chart before starting exam.
  • Administers opaque contrast material as directed by Radiologist.
  • Starts IVs on outpatients requiring IV contrast.
  • Draws labs for Creatine to expedite patient care when possible.
  • Communicates with nurses and physicians to expedite patient care.
  • Locates orders, lab work, allergies, and related resources on the patient in PowerChart.
  • Sends images to VRC in a timely manner and scans VRC report into PACS.
  • Gives oral contrast, when scheduled, to abdomen and pelvis CAT Scan patients one to two hours prior to exams.
  • Participates in training of new CT techs.
  • Operates Cerner System proficiently, troubleshoots order problems, and makes corrections within scope.
  • Completes and charges exams correctly on Cerner System.
  • Sends all exams to PACS System and knows procedures if PACS is down.
  • Adheres to radiation safety standards.
  • Assumes responsibility for the assigned area and reports equipment malfunctions.
  • Follows hospital policies and standards of behavior.
  • Incorporates patient, physician, and customer needs into decision-making.
  • Follows the AIDET model for personalized patient care.
  • Maintains ethical relationships and cooperates with personnel.
  • Engages in personal and professional development, pursuing continuing education.
  • Maintains professional appearance per dress code standards.
  • Attends at least 50% of scheduled department meetings and stays informed about missed meetings.
  • Provides patient transportation when needed.
  • Performs other duties as required by Radiology Director or Manager.
