About the Company

Valon is transforming both mortgage servicing and consumer direct lending with a technology-first approach. Backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and managing over $130 billion in loans, we’ve built our platforms from the ground up—not on outdated legacy systems—so homeowners, lenders, and investors experience greater transparency, efficiency, and care. By unifying processes into a modern, AI-native operating system, we’re leading the way in automation, compliance, and continuous improvement across our servicing and lending businesses.

Our mission is to empower every homeowner by making the mortgage experience simple, secure, and financially empowering. To achieve this, we bring together world‑class engineers, servicing experts, lending professionals, and operations leaders who share a passion for improving the homeowner journey. We’re not only reshaping what servicing and lending look like today—we’re creating opportunities for talented people to help drive the future of the industry.

As we continue to grow, Valon is expanding its footprint across multiple states, opening the door to exciting new roles and career paths. Joining Valon means becoming part of a fast‑scaling company where innovation, collaboration, and customer impact go hand in hand. Mortgage is just the beginning—we’re building the future of regulated finance, and we want you to be part of it.

Lending at Valon

Valon’s Lending team provides homeowners the ability to access low‑cost and streamlined mortgage loans originated in‑house, as well as Valon partners with tools to retain customers. Our primary mission is to recapture and cross‑sell into our servicing portfolio: we aim to provide a compelling range of products with competitive rates with the goal of best‑in‑market retention rates. We employ a consumer direct sales model based out of our ops HQ in Phoenix, AZ. As with the rest of Valon, the Lending business is rapidly growing, with an annualized volume approaching $500 mm in recent months.

About The Role

As Valon’s first Lending Systems Administrator, you will own and administer the technology that powers our lending operations. This includes our Loan Origination System (Vesta), as well as adjacent tooling like our pricing engine and lead management systems.

You’ll bring both lending operations expertise and enough technical fluency to manage configurations, integrations, and vendor relationships. Your role will be critical in ensuring our systems not only run smoothly but also evolve into a best‑in‑class platform that enables sales, operations, and capital markets teams to succeed. This is a chance to step into a high‑impact role and shape the continued development of lending technology at Valon.

Responsibilities
  • Own and administer all lending systems, with a primary focus on configuring LOS (Vesta) and maintaining CRM / telephony system used by Sales
  • Partner with vendors to manage tickets, integrations, and ongoing improvements.
  • Serve as the first line of support for troubleshooting and issue resolution across lending tooling.
  • Design scalable processes and workflows that streamline the lead qualification, loan origination, and funding.
  • Create and maintain documentation, guides, and training to empower internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Business Operations, Sales, and Capital Markets to align tooling with business needs.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned
Ideal Background
  • 5–10 years of experience administering and scaling a Loan Origination System (LOS), ideally with exposure to non‑Encompass platforms.
  • Prior experience at a consumer direct mortgage lender.
  • Strong knowledge of lending operations, loan workflows, and compliance requirements.
  • Technically savvy—comfortable with system configuration, APIs, and troubleshooting integrations.
  • Willingness to learn how to operate new systems and excited about adapting new technologies.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with sales, operations, and vendor teams.
  • Track record of designing processes and enabling teams through documentation and training.
  • Excited by the opportunity to be the first dedicated hire in this function, owning the roadmap for lending technology.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with LOS administration.
  • Proven knowledge of mortgage lending processes and workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and enable non‑technical users.
  • Self‑starter who takes ownership and thrives in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Benefits
  • Compensation: competitive salary and 401(k) plan
  • Health & well‑being: we’ll invest in your physical and mental well‑being with comprehensive medical, dental, & vision benefits
  • Food & meals: in‑office snacks and drinks, and Bagel Fridays
  • Commuter benefits: We offer pre‑tax deductions for public transportation, rideshare services, and parking expenses to make your commute more affordable and convenient.
  • Grow together: Company‑wide orientation for you to successfully onboard and other learning & development opportunities, including regular review cycles that feature 360‑degree feedback.
  • Generous time off: 17 days paid time off, sick days, and 11 company holidays.
  • Baby bonding time!: 12 weeks off for both birthing and non‑birthing parents—fully paid, so you can focus your energy on your newest addition.
