Job summary

Zing Recruiting is seeking an experienced Loan Processor / Lending Operations Specialist in East North Plainfield, NJ. Hybrid work arrangement: 4 days in office, 1 day remote. Contract-to-Hire with 5–7 years of CRE/C&I lending experience.

The role covers loan approval through closing and servicing, ensuring accurate processing and compliance while coordinating with Relationship Managers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Lending Assistant or Loan Processor experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with banking systems, preferably nCino.

Responsibilities

• Manage the deal-flow pipeline with Relationship Managers for timely closings.
• Coordinate with internal downstream teams and stakeholders throughout the loan process.
• Review loan closing documentation with counsel or internal teams.
• Review information for due diligence, processing, insurance, regulatory requirements, and execution.
• Support the execution and processing of lending transactions and escalate issues.
• Develop controls to mitigate transaction and operational risks.
• Order documents and prepare supplemental documentation as needed.
• Partner with closing and servicing teams for accurate loan booking and cash positions.
• Ensure proper loan funding, draws, payments, and payoffs are booked.
• Review loan documents for accuracy before closing.
• Close loans as needed and communicate issues to lenders.
• Maintain accurate records and follow processes.

NOW HIRING: LOAN PROCESSOR / LENDING OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Location: East North Plainfield, New Jersey (Rock location)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Loan Processor / Lending Operations professional to support commercial lending transactions from loan approval through closing and throughout the life of the loan.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of Lending Assistant or Loan Processor experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple transactions in a high-volume, deadline-driven banking environment.

Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending documentation is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for internal and external customers and stakeholders from loan approval through closing and throughout the life of the loan.
• Manage the deal-flow pipeline in partnership with Relationship Managers to ensure timely and accurate closings.
• Coordinate with internal downstream teams and stakeholders throughout the loan process.
• Coordinate and review loan closing documentation with legal counsel and/or internal documentation teams.
• Review information required for due diligence, application processing, insurance, operational feasibility, regulatory requirements, and transaction execution.
• Support the execution and processing of lending transactions while identifying and escalating issues.
• Develop solutions and appropriate controls to mitigate transaction and operational risks.
• Order required documents and prepare supplemental documentation when necessary.
• Partner with closing and servicing teams to ensure proper loan booking, accrual reconciliations, and daily cash positions.
• Ensure initial loan funding, draws, payments, payoffs, and other life-of-loan transactions are properly processed and booked.
• Carefully review loan documents for accuracy and completeness prior to closing.
• Close loans when necessary and communicate any issues to lenders before closing.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all processes and procedures are followed.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5–7 years of Lending Assistant or Loan Processor experience.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to confidently enforce policies, procedures, and established processes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent customer-service skills.
• Strong data-entry and computer skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with banking systems and nCino preferred/required for the role.
• Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loan documentation.
• Knowledge of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loan documentation.
• Experience supporting commercial lending transactions from approval through closing and servicing.
