ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate with customers by either mail, email or by personal phone calls to encourage payment of delinquent personal or business accounts.
- Answer customer inquiries. Including dealing with difficult customer situations and resolving problems.
- Complete on-line maintenance for extensions, and other changes as needed.
- Prevent further bank loss by avoiding charge offs and repossessions.
- Receive bankruptcy notices for customers with personal loans.
- Complete reaffirmation agreements and works with legal system to file bankruptcy plans.
- Perform file maintenance and monitors loans protected under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
- Follow policy and procedure of non-accrual loans. Including assisting with monthly reporting and tracking spreadsheets.
- Perform file maintenance to the DNA system for bad mail and address change when necessary.
- Respond to consumer disputes in a timely manner, including E-Oscar.
- Complete imaging of all customer correspondence and documentation.
- Prepare loan file for repossession. Including completing market analysis of collateral. Upon approval of repossession will order repossession through outside vendor.
- Assist with preparing, developing, and distributing reports to ascertain status of collection, charge-off, and repossession activity.

- Demonstrate reliability and accountability in attendance to support operational needs and service expectations.
- Comply with all Gate City Bank policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all responsibilities.
- Exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Utilize approved AI-enabled tools and technologies to enhance productivity, support problem-solving and decision-making, and drive efficiencies while exercising sound judgment and adhering to company policies, privacy standards, and responsible use expectations.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree; 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Interpret and use data for decision making.
