Qualifications

  • Three to five years of commercial lending experience required; consumer lending experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of loan documentation, loan operations, and applicable lending regulations required.
  • Experience with loan documentation systems, including Finastra LaserPro or a comparable platform, required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of commercial, mortgage, and consumer loan files to verify documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform pre-closing and post-closing reviews to ensure due diligence, proper execution, and required collateral.
  • Validate accuracy of information in core banking systems (loan boarding, covenants, ticklers, policy exceptions).
  • Identify and communicate QA findings and trends; collaborate with leadership on corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Partner with Loan Administration, Loan Servicing, Retail Lending, and other stakeholders to support operational excellence and training.

Job Summary

The Lending Quality Assurance Specialist supports the quality, accuracy, and compliance of the Bank's lending operations through quality assurance reviews of commercial, mortgage, and consumer loan activities. Working closely with the Lending Quality Assurance Manager, this position identifies trends, provides feedback, and recommends improvements to strengthen loan quality, documentation accuracy, and process consistency. The incumbent serves as a resource to lending personnel, helping mitigate risk, ensure adherence to regulatory and Bank requirements, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of commercial, mortgage, and consumer loan files to verify documentation accuracy, data integrity, compliance with loan approvals, and adherence to Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform pre-closing and post-closing reviews to ensure due diligence has been completed, loan documentation is properly executed, and required collateral and supporting documentation have been received.
  • Validate the accuracy of information maintained within the Bank's core systems, including loan boarding, covenants, ticklers, policy exceptions, and document imaging records.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality assurance findings, trends, and potential risks; collaborate with lending leadership to recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Partner with Loan Administration, Loan Servicing, Retail Lending, and other stakeholders to support operational excellence, process improvements, and training initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of lending regulations, bank policies, procedures, and systems to support compliance and effective risk management.
  • Participate in departmental projects and provide backup support for departmental functions as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and provide professional, responsive service to internal and external customers.
  • Perform responsibilities related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other regulatory requirements as assigned.

Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of commercial lending experience required.
  • Consumer lending experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of loan documentation, loan operations, and applicable lending regulations required.
  • Experience with loan documentation systems, including Finastra LaserPro or a comparable platform, required.
  • Experience with Fiserv core banking systems or similar banking platforms preferred.
Physical Requirements of Essential Job Functions

The associate is frequently required to sit and/or stand, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical of an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc.
