DLA Piper seeks a Finance associate for its Venture & Growth subgroup in Los Angeles, San Diego, or San Francisco. Candidates should have at least two years of lender-side experience in commercial finance matters and prefer representation of banks or private credit funds on technology, life sciences, or middle-market loans.

Admittance to the relevant state bar is required. The role involves a hybrid work arrangement—remote and in-office—plus collaboration across offices and practice groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of lender-side representation for commercial finance matters.
• Experience representing banks/private credit funds on loans to tech, life sciences and/or middle-market companies is preferred.
• Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction where applying.

Responsibilities

• Legal Research and Analysis to support client matters and strategy.
• Draft, review, and revise contracts, transaction documents, and disclosures.
• Coordinate deal closings and manage timelines across teams.
• Negotiate with clients, lenders, investors, and regulators as needed.
• Ensure regulatory, ethical, and professional standards are maintained.
