Job summary

Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls is seeking a compassionate Leisure Services Assistant to plan and lead activities for residents. You will help build a monthly activity calendar, transport residents to events, and support volunteers in a warm, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and leading group and one-on-one leisure activities for residents.

• Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff and volunteers.
• Observe residents during activities and communicate concerns to nursing staff.
• Maintain participation records and activity documentation.
• Keep activity areas clean, organized and safe.
• Assist with ordering and organizing activity supplies.
• Support volunteer involvement and ensure volunteers have a welcoming experience.
• Assist with breakfast service for 15–20 residents as needed while following food safety standards.
