Job summary

Legislative Services Office in Boise, Idaho, seeks a temporary Legislative Session Proofreader for the 2027 session. You will proofread legislative documents for sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and format to ensure accuracy against the Idaho Code. Starting salary is $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of the rules of English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Knowledge of proofreading methods; experience preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team setting while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to read aloud for extended periods.

SPECIAL NOTIFICATION: Thisposition is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proofread legislative documents for sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and format
• Read proposed legislation aloud to a partner – checking for accuracy against the Idaho Code
• Track legislation in an electronic management system
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
