DESCRIPTION OF WORK: North Carolina House Representative Kanika Brown is seeking a highly qualified professional to work as a Legislative Assistant in his office. A Legislative Assistant works directly with a House Member in fulfilling his or her public obligations by providing support in the areas of administration, communication, research, and public relations.
This position requires a high level of organization and accountability as well as the ability to perform independently and maintain composure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This position is a permanent, full-time position. Days of work are typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is under the direct supervision of the Representative and has no direct supervisory responsibilities, unless requested by the Member to assist in the supervision of an intern.
Examples of Duties: The Legislative Assistant will be given a wide range of tasks, projects, and duties, including, but not limited to, the following:

Required Education and Experience: Undergraduate degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
