The successful candidate will work closely with the Legislative Director and Chief of Staff to develop and execute a coordinated legislative strategy across assigned topics.

This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities to influence policy and collaborate with staff and stakeholders.

Job description

The Office of Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) seeks a Legislative Assistant for his Washington, D.C. office. The Legislative Assistant will support the Congressman's policy team by handling a diverse set of policy issues, to include healthcare and others. The Legislative Assistant will work closely with the Legislative Director and Chief of Staff to develop and execute a coordinated legislative strategy across assigned issue areas. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with ties to Missouri are encouraged to apply. This is not an entry-level position.

This position is full time, and the salary range is $68,000-74,000 depending on experience.
