Job description

Lathrop GPM, one of the nation's leading law firms, has an immediate opening for a Legal Support Team Assistant in our Denver, CO office.

Lathrop GPM is a full-service, Am Law 200 law firm with offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Overland Park, St. Cloud, St. Louis, San Jose, Redwood Shores and Washington, D.C. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, and a professional, challenging, yet comfortable hybrid working environment, two-three days in office/other days remote (home office).

The Legal Support Team Assistant, under direct supervision of the Office Supervisor, provides administrative assistance to legal support teams in the Legal Administrative Assistant group. The Legal Support Team Assistant works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in the office and throughout the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compose routine correspondence and proofread and edit legal documents.
  • Assist with electronic filing in document management system, open and close files, perform conflict checks, open matters, and maintain contact and other client information.
  • Prepare expense reimbursements and invoice payments.
  • Enter time in timekeeping system, review, and edit attorney’s time entries.
  • Arrange travel, schedule appointments, conference calls, conference rooms, etc.
  • Assist in preparing major mailings, filings, and closings by arranging for photocopies, organizing materials, creating trial binders, and other related tasks.
  • Sort, scan, and route incoming mail.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year prior professional office experience
  • Well organized and detail- oriented
  • Ability to deal professionally and communicate clearly, concisely, and tactfully, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, and applicable vendors; proper use of English, including punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure
  • Strong aptitude and understanding of basic PC and Software applications, including the ability to effectively utilize MS Outlook, Word, Adobe or PDF Pro, and other designated database systems
  • Ability to edit and proofread documents
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing work priorities while simultaneously managing multiple tasks

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior law firm experience
  • Associate Degree or Post-High School studies

Current anticipated salary range for applicants as required by applicable state laws is $42,000 - $55,000 depending on experience. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range. Full comprehensive benefit plan including health care, retirement plan and paid days off, including PTO, parental leave, and short/long term disability.
