Job summary

Arch Capital Group Ltd. offers an internship program in which students gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry.

Interns will assist the Corporate Legal Team on contracts, NDAs, SOWs, AI and data privacy, while supporting risk, governance and compliance discussions across segments. The role is hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days from home) and located in Raleigh, NC or New York City areas, with potential Jersey City consideration for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Actively completing a legal degree at an accredited law school.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Current 1L and 2L students with graduation dates between Dec 2027 and May 2029.
• Proficiency in productivity tools (Excel, CoPilot, PowerPoint, Word, Google products).
• Interest in insurance industry, corporate law, AI, contracts, business law, legal research and writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the legal team with contract reviews (IT transactions, NDAs, SOWs, AI, Data Privacy & Security).
• Support risk, compliance, and governance discussions with business segments and stakeholders.
• Contribute as a team member on departmental projects and programs.
• Perform tasks including legal review, document review and administrative support.

About This Internship

Arch's internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.

About This Role

• Support legal team with review on contracts, including but not limited to IT transactions, NDAs, Statements of Work, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Privacy & Security, across multiple business segments within the Corporate Legal Team.
• Support legal team with discussions with business segments and stakeholders on matters related to risk, compliance, and governance.
• Serve as a team member on departmental projects, initiatives, or ongoing programs.
• Perform tasks such as legal review, document review, and administrative support.

Qualifications

• Actively completing a legal degree at an accredited law school.

• Education level – Current 1L and 2L students, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2029.
• Proficiency in productivity tools, which could include tools such as Excel, CoPilot, PowerPoint, Word, or Google products.
• Demonstrated interest in the insurance industry, corporate law, AI, contracts, business law, legal research, and writing.
• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Work Arrangement

• The program dates are June 2, 2027 - August 6, 2027.
• This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home.
• This position is located in, Raleigh, NC, New York City, NY, or White Plains, NY. This position may be located in Jersey City, NJ for the right candidate.
• Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Raleigh, NC, White Plains, NY, and New York City, NY, the hourly rate is $26-28 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
