Job summary

Arch Capital Group Ltd. offers an internship in the Corporate Legal Team focused on hands-on experience in the insurance industry. You will gain exposure to contract reviews, data privacy and security considerations, and cross-functional collaboration with business segments.

The internship runs June 2, 2027 to August 6, 2027, with a hybrid work model: 2 days onsite and 3 days from home. Locations include Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; White Plains, NY; and Jersey City, NJ.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a law degree at an accredited school.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Education level – Current 1L and 2L students with graduation dates Dec 2027–May 2029.
• Proficiency with productivity tools (Excel, CoPilot, PowerPoint, Word or Google products).
• Demonstrated interest in insurance, corporate law, AI, contracts, business law, legal research and writing.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for continuous learning.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support legal team with contract reviews across IT transactions, NDAs, SOWs, AI and Data Privacy & Security.
• Assist with discussions on risk, compliance and governance with business segments and stakeholders.
• Serve as a team member on departmental projects and ongoing programs.
• Perform legal review, document review and administrative support tasks.

About This Internship

Arch's internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.

About This Role

• Support legal team with review on contracts, including but not limited to IT transactions, NDAs, Statements of Work, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Privacy & Security, across multiple business segments within the Corporate Legal Team.
• Support legal team with discussions with business segments and stakeholders on matters related to risk, compliance, and governance.
• Serve as a team member on departmental projects, initiatives, or ongoing programs.
• Perform tasks such as legal review, document review, and administrative support.

Location & Work Arrangement

• The program dates are June 2, 2027 - August 6, 2027.
• This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home.
• This position is located in, Raleigh, NC, New York City, NY, or White Plains, NY. This position may be located in Jersey City, NJ for the right candidate.
• Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Raleigh, NC, White Plains, NY, and New York City, NY, the hourly rate is $26-28 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
