SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, seeks a Legal Research SME contractor. You will review AI-generated outputs, write high-quality research memos, and provide precise written feedback to improve legal reasoning and accuracy.
You will assess reasoning quality, ensure proper citations, and identify jurisdictional errors across US/state and federal contexts, contributing to superior training data for premier AI models.
Pay: up to $110/hour
In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will work as a Legal Research Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review AI-generated legal research outputs and/or produce expert legal research content, evaluating reasoning quality and step-by-step issue analysis while providing precise written feedback. You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and adherence to the prompt; identify errors in issue spotting, jurisdiction handling, authority selection, citation accuracy, and rule application; verify that legal statements are appropriately supported by primary authority (where required); write high-quality explanations and model research memos that demonstrate correct, risk-aware legal reasoning; and rate and compare multiple responses based on correctness and reasoning quality.
