Job summary

Perry Homes is seeking a Legal Operations and Technology Manager to optimize the operational infrastructure of the Legal & Risk Management department. You will manage technology platforms, design workflows, track data and budgets, and drive process improvements in partnership with leadership.

This role involves mentorship as the team grows and cross-functional collaboration with IT, Procurement, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certification in legal operations, business, or related field a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in legal operations, project management, or technology management in-house.
• Hands-on experience with legal technology platforms and BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and administer the legal tech stack (CLM, matter management, RMIS) in coordination with IT.
• Lead evaluation, implementation, and adoption of new legal tech tools and rollouts.
• Design and maintain dashboards and reporting to visualize contracts, risk, and workload.
• Manage department budget, invoicing, and spend tracking.
• Develop policies and playbooks for standardized legal workflows.
• Support maturity and transformation initiatives with documentation and progress tracking.
• Serve as liaison to IT, Procurement, and Finance on operations and systems.
• Identify AI/automation opportunities and pilot governance policies.

About The Role

The Legal Operations and Technology Manager drives the operational infrastructure behind the Legal & Risk Management department - technology platforms, workflow design, data and reporting, budget administration, and process improvement. This role partners closely with the Deputy General Counsel and department leadership to ensure the legal function operates efficiently, measures its own performance, and scales its systems alongside the business. The role reports to the SVP & Deputy General Counsel. The role is a key driver of the department's ongoing transformation and maturity initiatives and may mentor or provide functional direction to legal assistants, coordinators or analysts as the team grows.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and serve as system administrator for the department's legal technology stack, including contract lifecycle management (CLM), matter management, and risk management information systems (RMIS) platforms, in coordination with IT.
• Lead evaluation, implementation, and adoption of new legal technology tools, from requirements gathering and vendor selection through rollout and training.
• Design and maintain department dashboards and reporting (e.g., Power BI) that give leadership visibility into contracts, risk, and departmental workload and performance.
• Manage legal department budget administration, vendor invoicing and spend tracking, and outside counsel guideline compliance.
• Develop and maintain department policies, workflows, and playbooks that standardize how legal work is requested, tracked, and delivered across the business.
• Support maturity assessment and transformation initiatives (e.g., CLOC Core 12 framework) by maintaining current-state documentation and tracking progress against desired-state goals.
• Serve as the department's primary liaison to IT, Procurement, and Finance on operational and systems matters.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to legal workflows in line with the department's AI governance policy and manage related pilots.
• Support enterprise risk management operations and coordination with the Insurance Procurement and Compliance Manager on program structure and coverage
• Oversee the insurance renewal process end to end, coordinating with brokers, gathering underwriting information, and driving timelines through binding and renewal.
• Partner with the Claims team to monitor claims trends and reporting within the RMIS platform, surfacing insights for department and executive leadership.
• Support evaluation and ongoing administration of the company's captive insurance program, including data and reporting needs in partnership with Strategic Development.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certification in legal operations, business, or a related field a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in legal operations, project management, or technology management, ideally within an in-house legal or risk department.
• Hands-on experience with legal technology platforms (CLM, RMIS, matter management, e-billing) and business intelligence tools (Power BI or similar).
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate operational data into clear insights for leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
