Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) in Carmel, IN, is seeking a Legal Operations professional to administer legal tech, manage risk, budgets, and vendor relationships. The role spans data analysis, cross-functional coordination, and process improvement.

The position offers a base salary of $73,000-$98,000 USD annually, eligibility for an annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401k and paid time off, with employment starting on day one.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Legal Studies or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in legal operations, project management, or related function.
• Strong organizational, project management, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365; comfort learning new technologies.
• Experience with legal billing systems, document management tools, and budgeting processes is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Interest or foundational understanding of AI technologies and platforms.

What Success Looks Like

Within one year, you will independently manage MISO’s corporate controlled document program and legal e‑billing platform, contribute meaningfully to Legal Department initiatives, and build strong cross‑functional relationships that enhance the effectiveness of our legal operations.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $73,000-$98,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
