State of North Carolina - Office of the State Auditor is offering a Legal Intern position in the Legal Affairs Division in Raleigh for Spring 2027. The internship provides hands-on exposure to reviewing case materials, drafting memoranda, and performing legal research under supervision.

Eligible law students in their 2nd or 3rd year with a minimum 3.0 GPA will gain practical experience and observe court proceedings as part of a structured program managed by the OSA.

Qualifications

  • Current second year or third year law student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient use of LexisNexis and/or Westlaw. Law review or journal experience is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review documentation for quality assurance.
  • Draft legal memorandums and assist in legal research.
  • Attend and observe court proceedings when possible.
