Job description

Hildebrand Law Firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to assist our attorneys and legal staff in providing exceptional client service. This internship offers hands‑on experience in estate planning, probate, elder law, family law, business law, and real estate while providing valuable exposure to the daily operations of a busy law firm.

The Legal Intern will support attorneys with legal research, drafting documents, client communication, file organization, and administrative projects while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Legal Support
  • Conduct legal research using online legal databases and other resources.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and client forms.
  • Review and summarize case files, statutes, regulations, and legal articles.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic client files.
  • Prepare document binders and materials for attorney meetings and workshops.
  • Assist with discovery, document review, and file preparation as assigned.
Client Services
  • Greet clients professionally and assist with general office hospitality.
  • Observe attorney-client meetings when appropriate.
  • Assist with client intake forms and organizing supporting documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
Administrative Support
  • Scan, copy, file, and organize legal documents.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and electronic correspondence.
  • Assist with scheduling and calendar management as needed.
  • Enter information into the firm's case management software (Actionstep) under supervision.
  • Assist with special projects and office initiatives.
Marketing & Community Outreach
  • Assist with educational workshops and community events.
  • Help prepare presentation materials and seminar packets.
  • Support social media, newsletters, and other marketing initiatives as assigned.
  • Participate in community outreach opportunities hosted by the firm.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, paralegal program, or law school.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn new software systems quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous office or customer service experience.
  • Experience with legal research or legal writing.
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus but not required.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client‑focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift or carry files or office materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to move throughout the office as needed.
