Job summary

EvenUp seeks a highly capable lawyer to join the Knowledge Management & Applied Research Team as a Legal Engineer. This role blends subject-matter expertise, product collaboration, and solutions architecture to scale legal work products with AI-driven drafting systems.

You will develop practice-area mastery, translate legal judgment into product specs, and refine logic against real output across cases, all while mentoring teams and expanding templates for injury claims and new practice areas.

Qualifications

• Strong drafting and writing skills across complex documents.
• Ability to explain doctrinal concepts to engineers, product managers, and data scientists.
• Comfort working with AI tools and models in substantive work.

Responsibilities

• Build drafting systems behind AI-generated work product by translating legal judgement into explicit decision trees.
• Translate expertise into product requirements, taxonomies, and evaluation criteria.
• Maintain and expand knowledge base and templates across practice areas.
